The Ministry of Health of Health on Wednesday announced 75 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Uganda.
The figure registered today brings the total cases registered in the country since March 2020 to 3,112.
“Results from the COVID-19 tests done on 1st September 2020 confirm 75 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans is now 3,112,” said a statement released by the Health Ministry on Friday.
August 22nd 2020 registered the most cases when the Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng announced 318 new COVID-19 confirmed cases more than tripled the numbers registered the previous day at 98.
Some of the prominent names have declared themselves COVID-19 positive including the Assistant Inspector of Police, Asan Kasingye and physical planner Amanda Ngabirano.
The new cases are from, Kampala 30, Buikwe 23, Amuru 4, Wakiso- 1, Kikuube- 6, Buvuma- 3, Mukono- 1 and Jinja- 1.
A total of 10 health workers have contracted the contagious all from Kampala.
Meanwhile 10 cases were from the truck drivers from different points of entry including Malaba, Busia, Mutukukula and Mpondwe.
No deaths announced today.
