Cecilia Ogwal asks Government to Improve Soroti Hospital Theater, Investigate Mulago

The Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament, Cecilia Atim Ogwal has appealed to Government to quickly improve on the surgical operation theaters of all regional Referral hospitals starting with Soroti where a conjoined twin was separated from the dead sibling.
Cecilia made recommendations on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday when the medical workers of Soroti regional Referral hospital were recognized.
Cecelia said Government should in the immediate terms rehabilitate the theaters of Soroti Regional Referral and provide appropriate and modern equipments to facilitate the dispensation of professional expertise of its doctors, who successfully carried out an incredible surgery in the existing dilapidated theater.
She also stated that the he Health Committee of Parliament should inspect all facilities in the Regional Referral Hospitals with the view to identify serious gaps for quick budgetary interventions.
Cecelia asked the Minister of Public Service table before Parliament the salary structures for all the strata of medical workers within two weeks.
She also asked the Ministry of Health to investigate the negative attitude of the Mulago National Referral Hospital who don’t want to perform their duties as required. The twins were reportedly turned down from Mulago.
All the recommendations were adopted by Parliament and the respective government entities are expected to implement them.
