Gen. Moses Ali Praises Kadaga leadership, Dismisses Nankabirwa Allegations

By Komakech Nicholas
The First Deputy Prime Minister, Gen. Moses Ali, who is also the Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament, has praised Speaker Rebecca Kadaga’s leadership and said NRM still needs her to steer the 11th Parliament.
Gen. Ali, tripling as the Adjumani West Member of Parliament, made the statement at Parliament on Friday during a dinner organized for Muslims during the Ramadan period.
Ali said he is not a fore teller to predict the election of the Speaker next month but he is ready to vote for Kadaga and believes that the party and the Government still needs her.
I am not a fore teller to predict the future, but I am a contributor in this Parliament. We need Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga to continue with her duty as the Speaker of Parliament,” said Gen. Ali.
He openly stressed that he has worked with Kadaga for many years and he knows her as a dedicated leader.
“I have worked with my sister here (Kadaga) for quite many years and I have come to know her capability as a dedicated person. I must say I enjoyed working with her,” said Ali.
The words made by Ali, as the Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament, clearly dismisses the allegations made by the Government Chief Whip, Ruth Nankabirwa in August 2020.
During the campaigns for the National Resistance Movement party Central Executive Committee members last year, Nankabirwa recorded an audio message saying Kadaga has been a burden to her and NRM government in Parliament. The audio was circulated to social media and radio stations.
At the end Kadaga won the elections with a big margin leaving her detractors in tears. Nankabirwa also lost her seat in Parliament as the Kiboga woman MP after being defeated by a National Unity Platform candidate.
Gen. Moses Ali always stands for the Prime Minister, Ruhakana Rugunda in Parliament, and is known for toughly speaking his mind.
