
Paul Rusesabagina, the former hotelier portrayed as a hero in a film about Rwanda’s 1994 genocide and his family have called on the international community to intervene is his case with Rwanda.
Rusesabagina is a political dissident who lived in exile in Belgium and the United States but charged with terrorism and other offences on his return to Rwanda in August.
He says he was tricked into returning to Rwanda and has been denied his choice of defence lawyers.
His case has attracted widespread international attention partly because his story of protecting Tutsi guests during the genocide was made into a popular Hollywood film
