Enock Kusasira is a professional English teacher and public relations expert with over 15 years working with reputable organisations in East Africa. He holds a bachelors degree in Education majoring in Literature in English and a Masters degree in Literature and media.
He was born on 2nd June 1978 to Mr. Eric and the late Jovanice Kabeera in Rwobusiisi village, Naama Parish, Kinoni Subcounty in Kiruhura district. Kusasira attended his primary education at Naama primary school, Kashwa primary and finally Kanyaryeru primary school all in Kiruhura where he completed his primary seven in 1993. He then joined Lake Mburo Secondary school where he later completed his secondary education in 1999. At this school he served as the head prefect while in S.5.
He joined Makerere University in 2000 and graduated in 2003 with a bachelors degree in Education majoring in Literature in English. He briefly taught English at Kabojja SS in Kampala and then Kampala International University (KIU) where he taught literature in the school of education.
In 2008, he worked at Uganda’s leading publishing company, Fountain publishers from where he was hired as coordinator of cultural research that led to the establishment of Igongo cultural centre in Biharwe, Mbarara. Igongo and Fountain Pulishers belong to the same management.
In 2010 he was hired by the government of Rwanda to teach English to Rwanda teachers and he returned to Uganda in 2011 and joined Cross Cultural Foundation Uganda. In 2012, he was appointed the Public Relations Officer of Mulago National Referral Hospital, a position he held until 2018.
Yesterday, 15th February 2021, he was appointed as the new Head of Communication and corporate affairs at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) replacing Simon Kasyate who was appointed head of communication at Mastercard Foundation. Kusasira is married to Sheeba Kusasira Rujoki.
