If there was any doubt as to Liverpool’s appetite to retain the Premier League title then it has already been laid to rest.
Having found a way to win against Leeds United last weekend they were handed a route to victory by Chelsea who imploded under the pressure of being potential pretenders to the crown.
It was, though, Liverpool’s determination and ferocity – summed up by Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah – that forced Chelsea into blundering hence giving Liverpool an upper edge.
Chelsea’s Christensen at the 45th minute got a red card as he tried to tackle Sadio Mane, which influenced Liverpool’s second half early goal.
Mane’s second goal summed up the game when Chelsea’s keeper Arrizabalaga’s grave mistake of passing the ball to his opponent to immediately punished him.
Liverpool have now gone two matches unbeaten, with six points.
